I was given access to the library of a friend of a friend. Today I tried to start plex and I get a message saying that the files are all unavailable “Please verify that the server is running and has a network connection”
Does this mean there is an issue on his side or has my access been removed? I tried to connect through multiple devices with working access on my side
That’s what I was hoping but I have never had an issue before so I wasn’t sure. It still has his library name with all of the sub categories that I normally have but they all just have the orange triangle with the exclamation point through each one. I’ll see what happens, thanks for the reply
He is probably having issues with remote access, like a BUNCH of users are over in the Remote Access section of the forum. Look at the massive influx of posts regarding flapping Remote Access - https://forums.plex.tv/c/plex-media-server/remote-access/.
@tom80H - Is this being investigated by the Plex team?
I’m not seeing an influx of posts.
Threads keep being answered (unless some slip below under our radar, e.g. “me too” posts or attempts to hijack other threads)… many cases turn out to be related to:
it actually never worked and was never properly set up
there’s been a change of one or more components
changes by the ISP
the remote access status indicator being off
messed up VPN setups
…
Not saying those are not valid. Just disagreeing with the perception of a “massive influx”.
Edit: that’s just my perception… not an official position of Plex (keep in mind I’m also just a user who happens to be a Ninja/forum mod)
