The really neat part of Plex’s New and Improved Undocumented TV Show Matching Nightmare is that not even FileBot can help in some cases, but don’t worry folks - it only takes a few moments to Fix Incorrect Match.
For YEARS the volunteer support staff has suggested that when in doubt use FileBot or go to TVDB and get the name they use - after all TVDB is THE TV Show Database so if you match their naming it has to be right, right?

The two examples above are the first two posts in this ‘Research’ thread, but what? It’s easier for users to Fix Incorrect Match than it is for Plex to fix whatever they developed? I guess so.
Has anyone at Plex HQ noticed that TV Show Matching has gone completely 'round the bend? TV Show matching problems infest the forums and Plex’s volunteer support staff can’t develop work-arounds fast enough to match the need for work-arounds shipped out of Plex HQ.
But don’t worry folks - it only takes a few moments to Fix Incorrect Match or through trial and error and enough of The Plex Dance® anything can be made right.
