How can I change the location for the storage of Live TV?

Hi There ,

I have an 16GB Nvidia shield and it keeps running out of space when watching Live TV. I would like to configure PLEX to use network storage for the Live TV buffer.

I know how to record a show to the network storage. I now want to move the Live TV buffer off the Shield.

Have you looked at the transcoder settings? Have never tried this setting myself since my server has plenty of disk space.

Hi John,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried this. The storage used by the app on the shield continues to grow and I don’t see any thing appearing in the network share specified in the transcoder directory I specified.

Does Plex make use of adopted storage yet?

If it does, you could just add a USB stick or a USB HDD and make it adopted storage.

I’ve not had much joy with adopting USB storage. I started with a scandisk but it keeping ejecting and finally would no longer mount on the shield. It also would run really hot. I then tried a Lexar and found the shield ran really slow.

The only thing I need storage for is for live TV. All my media is on a network drive and any gaming I do is via Steam in-home streaming.
