I have this special episode of Rick And Morty “Samurai & Shogun” on my hard drive but plex just cant add it. It doesnt know what to do! Why cant there just be a manual add file to plex so I can stream it. This is one of the biggest weaknesses with plex right now.
1st – you might want to update your server. The 1.16 releases pretty much date back 1 year. The latest public release is version 1.19.4.
2nd – it’s as simple as adding it to the folder linked to Plex… just name the file like this:
TV Shows <- the folder linked to your Plex Library
Rick and Morty
Season 00 <- alternatively you can name that folder 'Specials'
Rick and Morty - s00e173 - Samurai and Shogun.ext <- the episode title can be omitted
Where .ext is your file extension.
If you add files that have no information on what season/episode it represent, Plex will ignore that file when scanning your library folder.
