I am running the 0.41 version of Rasplex on my Raspberry PI, Model B+. I am using an IR remote, the Vista MCE VRC-1100, which works fairly well, but I have some dead keys (fast forward, fast back, skip to end, skip to begin). I have installed Plex HT on my file server and am able to stream my 2TB library with ease.
Happy with what I have, I would like to dedicate a second Raspberry PI to be a staging server, so that I can build beta versions of Rasplex and test without perturbing my Home Theater. I would like to get a good look at my IR remote issues so that I can take advantage of a Logitech Harmony 350 remote that I just purchased.
My main development system is a 4GB, dual core X86 system, with an HDMI monitor and plenty of disk space. I have done some builds on the Raspberry (rvm and ruby-on-rails), but compiling on the PI is a very slooooowwww process, so I want to set up a cross build environment to build Rasplex for the arm cpu on my dev machine. I believe I have all the 'arm' dependencies installed, but can't be sure until I get a complete Rasplex source environment installed.
I have installed what I believe to be the top-level git repo for Rasplex (git@github.com:RasPlex/RasPlex.git) and have found it to be sort of a skeleton of other repos (I am guessing here).
So, my question is: Am I on the right track and, if so, where are the other git repos that I are referenced in the above repo?
I would appreciate some help from someone who has been down this path before.

Suggest you read all the developer guides on the Rasplex github.
To 'play around' with remotes you don't need to recompile the source, suggest that you search this forum and also the Internet for OpenElec remotes.
