I’m currently adding albums from my library to a playlist. They add fine, but it seems the only way to view the music in the playlist is at the song level. As more and more albums are added to the playlist, the list of songs becomes too large to scroll through without getting a headache. I want to be able to browse through the music in the playlist the same way I can in the main library (by artist, album, etc.). Am I missing something?
No, Playlists are just a track list at this point. There are some feature requests to add sorting and other enhancements, but I don’t recall seeing any requests like yours. You might want to add a feature request for it in the Feature Request Voting forum.
