I have a huge music collection and want to organize several albums to their own playlist but don’t see a way to view by album like it is shown in the main file library. Is there a way to get this view in a playlist too?
What exactly do you mean with ‘to their own playlist’?
What is your goal here?
Reduce the amount of albums displayed simultaneously?
Or separate music which is too remote stylistically, like e.g. heavy metal and classical ?
something else?
Essentially I’d like 1 library with all my music but be able to set up playlists that have entire albums not just songs AND be able to view the playlist BY ALBUM. I could create separate libraries but don’t want to have duplicate files just because the view option is not what I want. Hopefully that is more clear. Any ideas? Thanks!
So your ultimate goal is to listen to albums in-whole, preferably several abums in succession?
You can always switch your library view to ‘Album’ mode.
then use a filter to reduce the number of items and then ‘enqueue’ each album you want to listen to.
If you enqueue an album this way, its tracks will get added in the order they have on the album.
You could also store this filter condition into a smart playlist, so you can listen to this on other clients which don’t have such an extensive user interface for custom filters (e.g. mobile phone)
