I cannot disable shuffle on the current version of Plexamp. I asked Perplexity how to do it and this was its response:
Plexamp can become “stuck” on shuffle due to design decisions made by the developers related to how the queue is managed and when the shuffle toggle is allowed. Specifically, when you play or shuffle an album that is not downloaded (online), you may be entirely unable to toggle the shuffle mode off. Similarly, when adding items to the queue, the ability to toggle shuffle can become disabled—even if you initially had control over it. This is because Plexamp currently lacks a clear mechanism for determining where to place newly added songs in the queue after unshuffling, leading the developers to disable shuffle toggling in these contexts.
Key scenarios where shuffle gets “stuck”:
** Playing/shuffling an album that is not downloaded: Shuffle cannot be toggled off.*
** Playing/shuffling an offline album: Shuffle can be toggled, unless you add something to the queue, after which shuffle cannot be toggled.*
** Adding any song or album to the queue: If shuffle toggle was available previously, it is now disabled for both online and offline playback.*
This is a known limitation and has been widely discussed by users, but is not due to a malfunction; rather, it is a side effect of how queue management is currently implemented in Plexamp.
If you require shuffle control, the only workaround is to avoid adding items to the queue after playback begins, or to play/shuffle only downloaded content—and not modify the queue mid-session.
Surely, this is not correct?
