I have a WD my cloud home and the plex function works by making a new folder called plex that plex searches for in the nas. So I can’t put tv shows in 2 different folders because theres only 1 folder. When adding a library plex doesnt allow me to configure any directories, etc. H
Is there a way toget more than 1 Library for TV shows or hide some from a specific user?
That’s basically the key restriction of Plex on a MyCloud NAS. You apparently can create multiple libraries per media type but each media type is hard-wired to the media type specific folder.
When I setup my PLEX media server on MyCloud PR4100 running Linux over 4+ years ago, I spent time researching, and was able to config the settings within PLEX to create folder for my movies and a folder for my TV series. I also configured the settings within PLEX to access my PLEX server from my Windows 10 laptop, thus allowing me to create “sub folders” under the “main folder” for my movies, and also create “sub folders” under the “main folder” for my TV series. In this way, I am able to have individual folders for each movie and TV series within each main folder. This also allows me to share my collection of movies and TV series with my family & friends remotely through my internet service, and also be able to access my collection remotely while travelling, both domestic and abroad.
