Okay this is super annoying. It used to be everytime I would restart my computer Plex would startup and it would automatically log me in. I have a bunch of other services such as Spotify that will log me in as soon as I boot my computer. For some reason Plex doesn’t do this anymore. I have to manually enter my username and password.
Anyway to ensure that plex will save my username and password and automatically log me in everytime I reboot my computer? I swear it used to do it but now it doesn’t which can be extremely annoying if I forget to log in after restarting my computer and I’m outside my home network and decide to watch something on Plex only to find out that I’m not logged in!
Do you mean your Windows user account?
If you upgraded your Windows edition recently, the Registry setting which achieved this previously was probably erased.
You need to re-create it:

Or, in the case of Plex Server, you can switch to running it as a system service. Then it won’t matter anymore whether a Windows user is logged on or not.

I am assuming you have Windows, boot into Windows and start Plex. Then in the system tray (bottom right of screen) right click on the Plex icon and select ‘Start Plex Media Server at Login’.
Plex should then start every time you restart Windows.
If you manually sign in each time, don’t forget to check the check box at the bottom of the page to remember your log in.
Then when Windows starts it will automatically run and sign you in.
If you are not using Windows, the process will be similar on all of the other OS’s.
I have start plex media server at login checked and it’s still not automatically logging me in. I have to double click on the plex icon on my system trey and login that way.
‘Double Clicking’ the System Tray Icon also opens Plexweb.

Here’s what happens when I log in. As you can see the box at the bottom is checked. It just doesn’t log in. Now my username isn’t showing up because yesterday I deleted it from my remembered logins but it wasn’t working before that. I deleted it from my remember logins hoping it would fix it.
If you instructed Firefox to delete any browsing session data when it is closed, it deletes your Plex login as well.
I have the same setting, so I am using the browser Add-On ‘Cookie-Keeper’ to preserve all cookies related to Plex.
