Hi
I have 1504 .mkv files in Qnap media folders (No duplicates) and PLEX for Mac Version 1.62.2.3451 shows only 1481 movies. So 23 movies are missing.
How do I know which ones are missing?

Let’s start with verifying we’re actually comparing apples w/ apples.
The number you see in Plex isn’t the number of files but the number of visible items in the given view. There’s two common scenarios where the number will deviate from the number of files:
duplicates / multiple versions → if Plex considers files to reflect different quality versions of the same movie, those will be combined in a single library item. You can filter your library for Duplicates to identify items which have multiple files associated. You can then check if those are valid (
> Info or ⋮ > Get Info). If the files are merged because they’re poorly named, you can use the Split Apart option from the item’s context menu

collections → if your library is configured to create collections and to show those collections in the library view, this will impact the number of visible items. As collections are only displayed inline with your library items if the library is sorted By Name… simply change the sort order of the library view (e.g. to By Release Date); this way collections won’t “get in the way” when you’re counting files.
