I like to put my absolute latest movies and TV shows in the same folder. When I create a search group for TV shows it only gets TV shows which is what I want. But for some reason when I search for movie it shows both the TV shows as unidentified videos and movies. I know I had this working before but I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong now.
Please help me keep my peanutbutter out of my chocholate short of putting them in differnet folders.
Thanks - I’m an idiot - it turns out it was doing what it was supposed to but I had some TV shows named with bad names so it got confused once I changed them to Halo s01e02 etc they no longer showed up
The libraries will look at any file in the folder (and sub-folders) that you tell it to look at. I’ve noticed that each library type (Movie/TV Show) will try to exclude files that do/do not (repectively) look like TV Show episodes. Movie libraries appear to exclude anything with “SxxExx” in the title, while TV Show libraries will exclude anything that doesn’t start with “SxxExx”, “Exx”, or a number “xx”.
It’s best not to rely on this behavior, as there could be fringe setups for some filenames that don’t behave the way you expect. I’d suggest you create sub-folders in your “New media” folder that has each tv show and movie in their own sub-folder to remove any ambiguity.
