i recently added 3 new movies, of which one didnt make it into Plex after updating the library several times.
The folder was named "Stone (2010)". (containing a .mkv and a .nfo file btw)
So i renamed the mkv file within to something more simple, like "stone.mkv" - as that sometimes seemed to help in the past. It did not this time.
I also could not find anything like "Stone" in the "Plex Media Scanner.log". Renamed the folder to "Stone" and "stone" but that didnt make it scan or show up in the log either.
Solution was to rename the folder to "St0ne", it immediately got scanned and matched.
My question: **could it have something to do with me having a TV Series called "Eli Stone" in another library section?**
The ‘looks like a TV show’ code looks at the format of the name, not any of your other library items. So no. Also there’s no reason the original name would be matched as a possible TV show.
Could be a network outage or any number of other things.
I had the same issue with The King’s Speech. One workaround I found was to rename the file with the Spanish title, “El discurso del rey (2010).avi”. The entry for the King’s Speech on freebase.com suggested this as an alternative title, and seemed to do the trick for getting the film to register with PMS. Silly, but effective.
