How do I launch a Plugin? Not visible in the Plex Menu

Server Version#: 4.51.3
Player Version#: 4.51.3

I have downloaded and installed the GitHub - kolsys/YouTubeTV.bundle: Plex YouTube video plugin. After restarting, I see this bundle is ready for configuration under Settings > Manage > Plugins. However, I do not see the bundle anywhere in the Plex Menu - ie, I can’t see any way to launch the plugin. What am I missing? I have a Plex Pass subscription. Do I need to upgrade to Premium? Is there some other configuration/switch that needs to be enabled?

Thanks

These kind of plug-ins previously known as channels are now sunset and should not work (as intended). There are only a small handful of plug-ins that are still allowed but are ONLY management tools such as WebTools.

Is there any alternative to plugins - can developers build their own “web shows” for example?

:skull: Plugins : This was not a decision taken lightly, as they’ve been around for a long time, and we’ve had good times both writing and using them. But bluntly, hardly anyone uses them (less than 2% of users), the ancient protocol they use is a continued pain for clients to support, and if we were to build the feature again, we’d do it very differently in this day and age. For utility-type functionality, we love standalone apps like Tautulli and believe this is a better approach. But don’t panic—while the Plugin Directory will soon be gone, you can still manually install plugins for the foreseeable future.

However they completely eliminated use of what you’re asking to do - access to outside video and music services as plug-ins. I miss them as well, but there isn’t any intent for them to bring them back - so they say.

Disappointing. I was scripting for Playon.tv but Plex would be a more universal platform.

Agreed. Most devs have opted to develop scripts that work outside of Plex such as the DizqueTV project. or xTeVe - IPTV for Plex DVR

GitHub - vexorian/dizquetv: Create live TV channels from your own media. Access the streams using the simulated HDHomerun tuner or the generated M3U URl.

Thanks for the tip. I will read up on these.
