How do I play media I synced to my Android phone?

Obviously, this is a newbie question. I just purchased a Plex pass, and was able to sync movies from my home server to my Android phone. Now that I am away from my home server, how do I play these videos? I tried changing to my phone content by the drop down arrow in the upper left of Plex. But now it tells me “no servers found.”

Do I need to set up a server on my android phone to be able to find the synced videos? BTW, where are the synced videos stored on my phone?

Thanks for any help,
Rob

I don’t have an Android device myself, but the general method is to start the Plex app, then ‘switch server’ to the local device.
You tap on the server name on the main page of the app. I think in the screeenshot below it is named ‘Martin Family Media’

Yep…change servers to your local device, then browse to whichever library your synced content was from (for whatever reason there is no discover/home page hub for synced content…), and they’re all in there.

Thanks Otto and Jkalland. That is about how far I got before. I opened my plex for android app, and was able to switch to my local device. But then the screen says “No servers found. Install a Plex media Server where you keep the media to get the most out of Plex.” I have a Plex server on my home PC (which I used to sync to my phone last night) , but I am not sure if I am suppose to set a server up my cell phone now. I would have thought the Plex app would be in lieu of another server, but maybe not.

Thanks,
Rob

What does the “sync status” show in the settings of the plex app on your android? can you send a screenshot?

Alternatively, what shows in the sync settings section on your server in the web UI (it should show a list of devices, and which files are synced to which device)

Thanks again for the help. I final found it.
