How do I properly "unmatch" from Gracenote with Plex Music?

Truth be told, I know just about enough to be dangerous.

Short Version:
Some of my albums are still associated with GraceNote. How do I change that?

Long Version
I’ve been trying to get my Music Library sorted out, which seems a much harder task than it should be. The files are properly tagged with Album Artist, Track Artist, Track #, Track Title, etc using MP3Tag or MB Picard. The file structure follows the file structure suggested, that is Artist folder, Album folder, Tracks (as stated here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/correcting-your-music-content-matches/) And while I’m here, how about adding a direct link to the New Music stuff in the Help Articles section - all of the information is for the old system and not necessarily relevant/correct now

I have hundreds of unmatched albums. From some of the info I’ve found here, to be properly matched, all of the guid from the tracks have to be set to plex://artist, plex://album and plex://track.

Here’s where I’ve found a problem.
For unmatched albums added before the music upgrade:
The tracks are still tied to guid="com.plexapp.agents.plexmusic://gracenote/track/", and parentGuid="com.plexapp.agents.plexmusic://gracenote/album" My understanding is Plex no longer works with Gracenote, and somehere, somehow during the upgrade process, that metadata provider should probably been automatically removed.
For unmatched albums added after the upgrade:
The tracks are tagged with guid="local://" and parentGuid="local://"

In all cases, a "Fix Match" doesn’t show the proper results as an option. I don’t want to match the album to another agent, like Last.FM or Personal Media, because from that point on, the album will be tied to that agent, and I won’t benefit from the improved metadata from MusicBrainz.

Refreshing metadata for an album or artist doesn’t change any of the information. Plex seems to scan every file in the music library everytime new media is added, so I’m sure the music has been through the AccousticID process at least once.

Adding new releases to MusicBrainz is a time consuming procedure. I’ve added a few, and they have to go through the review process. If and when they are approved, I suspect a “Fix Match” or “Match” will correct the problem. Hopefully automatically, during a maintenance run.

Bumping this… hopefully someone will see it and respond. I have several artists and albums still matched to the old Plex Music scanner, and still applying Gracenote as the agent (identified in the XML for the tracks) By experimenting, I’ve found I can “Unmatch” those albums, and they fall back to the local embedded metadata.

Example:
I have 15 albums by the Stampeders in my library. Four of those albums - “Live at the Mae Wilson,” “Greatest Hits Over 70 Minutes with… Volume II,” “Rock The Road Again,” and “The Stampeders Greatest Hits” were still matched with the old agent.

Only one of the albums is available at MusicBrainz, "“Greatest Hits Over 70 Minutes with… Volume II.” I was not able to match the album, with a “Fix Match” automatically, or using the options until I unmatched.it first. At that point the album was able to be selected with the default agent “Plex Music”

It’s possible that at some point in time I had to manually match the albums with the old system. The library is only a few months old, and I can’t remember doing that, because I’ve been adding music slowly, a few every day to make sure I have proper tags, file structure, etc. before they are added to Plex.

I have two questions:

  1. Is there a way I can find out which albums are still stuck with Gracenote without manually plodding thru the library to view the XML files?
  2. If the albums are added to MusicBrainz by me or someone else, will Plex recognize that automatically, and correct the match, or so I have to manually “Match” them once they are in the MB database?

Thanks in advance for any information
