Just saw this feature and created a test “issue” using admin user. Now I can’t find a way to delete the “issue”.

There is not currently but I know it is something we are looking into as we have received that feedback already since release.
So where are the reported issues stored, are they in the Plex DB? or are they stored at Plex HQ?
Hey @blim5001 ! Good question. We worked hard to keep our separation of server vs cloud data here like we do on all of our data. While the server messaging system uses some of the same mechanisms (UI, interfaces, etc) we have split out this messaging so that the matching and link to the specific title being referenced only exists at the server level. The only thing stored at the cloud level is the message text.
You can see this for yourself pretty easily if you have a server. Simply send a message to yourself, turn off your server, then go check out the Reported Issues feed. It will look like this with the message text but no other context (because my server isn’t on to provide that context).

Hope this helps answer your question!
Also @subagon to back up what BigWheel commented on, this feature is going to be built out more. This first iteration is intended try and make sure that these messages didn’t get buried far down in the activity feed. Next we will take a look at building onto the feature for things like message management which would including clearing/hiding/removing the message once it is seen and read.
hmm, yeah that is kind of what I expected, but I do not really like it.
As I have no idea what the user may send in the message. They could include the show and title in the message.
So I guess i am asking for an option to be able disable this feature.
Especially as we currently have no way to delete the issues.
Understood and heard @blim5001 . We are definitely talking about this and how it might be implemented. I would say that we are considering it if I were giving a status update right now (which I guess I am doing
).
@BigWheel Good to hear. I like this feature since I have family viewers 4 time zones away and have received several late-night phone calls when a show isn’t working.
i see this in use on my server and there is no way to clear the messages that i can find. please implement a clear or delete feature to remove unwanted messages.
5 Months on and you still can not delete reported issues…
Was really looking forward to this feature, but yea, c’mon. Just give us a “X” to click on.
Oh yes, just discovered the feature, tested reporting issues to myself and now I have now way of marking it as fixed or irrelevant or simply dismiss it.
Any solution should enable the admin to
And of course have a filter to view only new ones, all unfixed (standard view without irrelevant ones), any priority only, all.
Edit: and please add reported issues to the notification badge at the top bar for admin and perhaps user who reported.
I could drop my external solution for managing problems that need to be fixed - but are unfixed due to lack of time ![]()
Ping goes out to @McWanke who took his time to answer in this thread.
Yeah the report feature is very obviously unfinished. It’s funny if you remove the movie or show that is reported - now the report just leads to an error page ![]()
Is there any update on this issue? All we need is an “X” button to be able to delete the reported issue and remove it from the list. If you have people sending you reports, it just continues to build and the list can get very long. There must be a way to either dismiss it or remove it completely.
I’m just here to reiterate the usefulness of the “clear list” function
+1 for having an option to delete messages
I’ll chime in as well. Still see my single report which was a self-test. Seems that the ability to clear out reports due to “completion” would be a great feature. At the VERY LEAST being able to delete reports due to spam from rude users or foul language abuse should be allowed.
It is quite sad a feature that could be useful just gets completely neglected.
(Thankfully none of my users have found it, well I least I have no reported issues.)
As it is, in it’s current state it just seems a bit pointless. If you did actually use the feature you could end with a long list of reported issues with no way to delete them or even mark them as resolved.
So I guess back to my original request for a way to disable this feature, at least until some development time is allocated to actually make it useful… (Just in case my users do find the feature and try to use it)
@McWanke anything to add, as have not heard anything since Nov
I Wonder aswell, what ever happend to this? @McWanke ?
I’m frustrated at this lack of progress.
At this point, anytime someone asks about this, I get all angry and something snaps. I shout out evilly “YOU CAN’T!!! MWAHAHAHAHA! HOPE YOU DON’T HAVE ANYONE ABUSING IT TO SEND YOU HATE MESSAGES THAT NEVER GO AWAY! AHAHAHAHAHA!” before I come to my senses and start sobbing.
Kinda seems like it’s a bad idea to launch a feature that’s half done if the way in which it’s half done allows people to get spammed accidentally and doesn’t give them tools to deal with it, but what do I know?
