How do you delete TV show fan art for PMS Windows?

I hope this is the right section for this question.
So I updated a bunch of tv show fan art and refreshed my whole tv library but I still see the old fan art.
I emptied the trash as well.
If I go into the tv show and update the fanart manually, I see the old and new fan art available.
Each tv show title is stored in its own folder with all the information such as the nfo and art.
Where does plex store the old fan art and how can I get rid of it?
I see the plex folder in username\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server.
I also see there are images in the media folder.
Whats the easiest way to do this?
I am on PMS Version 0.9.16.0

Thanks in advance.

The fanart file you place into your tv show media folder is only one of several possible choices.
It is only selected automatically when you
1.add the tv show as-if-it-were-new (see Plex Dance) and
2. the Local Media Assets agent is at the top of the agent list

If you later chage the background art file in your media folder, there is no way to display this new file automatically. It is always:

  • refresh tv show +
  • edit tv show and pick the new fanart

The same applies to posters, artist photos and album cover art.

Thats what I figured.
Basically the hard way to fix these.
I was hoping I could find where plex stores the old fan art and delete it, then refresh the library again.

Doing so would result in even more labour.
First, you’d have to find the right folder in the Plex data folder where it cached your fanart. Then you’d have to replace it with the new file. And then of course replace the fanart file in your media folder too. And then refresh the tv show anyway, so the resized versions which have been made and cached for display in the clients are regenerated too.

Ive been poking around and I did see the folders.
Wish there was an easier way to clean up images.
Thanks for the advice.
