How do you download a series on an iPad?

How do you download a series on an iPad with the new app? I can only seem to download an episode at a time?

Specifically:

Downloads

  • Download of entire seasons / shows
  • Fixes to storage limit settings
  • View progress syncing for downloaded items

How long before app is actually available, not yet in the (UK) App Store?

It’s been available in the Australian App Store for at least the last 8 hours.

it is a staged rollout. meaning we have been increasing gradually as we make some changes and fix some bugs. I believe it should be available to all by some time next week

It is a very welcome release, resolving a lot of annoying bugs. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Ok, now available but there is still a bug. I deleted all the episodes from a series (in Downloads) so that I could download again as a series and am getting a message saying the downloads already exist (despite being deleted). Quitting the app does not resolve.

EDIT: Rebooting iPad also does not resolve.

OK, I think I know what is going on. I found the series queued “In Progress”, I must have hit download twice. Strictly speaking the error message should have advised that downloads are being queued as they were not downloaded (and not in Completed).

Downloading of series is still not behaving as expected. You can now download a series, but rather than the episodes appearing in a discreet series folder in your downloads you still get each episode appearing as a separate file.

EDIT: just a minor observation, episodes also do not appear (download) in order.

I have downloaded a few series now and the episodes are all over the place in the downloads folder.

thanks for that clarification BigWheel. Build by build we are getting close to something far better than the older version. I’m guessing for a while it will be some steps forwards, and some backwards.

What a joke, when trying to download an entire season it always transcodes now even though everything is set to play/stream/download the original file. Add another new bug to the no doubt enourmes list of bugs, devs.
