How do you force the Plex scanner to see a file?

Server Version#: 4.51.1 for both iMac and QNAP NAS
Player Version#: using the web server app so I guess 4.51.1

I have a file which for some reason disappeared from a library. although it remains in its folder. The Plex scanner keeps saying that there are no changes in the folder, even though I have:

1. Renamed the file
2. Removed the file from the folder, scanned, added it back and scanned

If I copy the file to a different library (with different folders) it is seen.

So I am stumped. How do I get the scanner to see that the file in the folder has changed?

Sounds like you need to do the Plex Dance, Also verify you are following the naming conventions.

Looks as if the problem was due to the encoding. I re-encoded it in FCP and now it shows up in the scans.
