Scan Library not picking up all of my media

Server Version#: 1.18.6.2350
Player Version#: latest

I’m new to NAS servers. I used to use a PC computer and the scan function worked fine but the computer was bulky and always needed to be left running. That is why I purchased a NAS drive. So, I recently purchased a WD MyHome Cloud with capabilities for Plex. I then purchase a lifetime subscription to plex.

So I transferred only 12 mp4 files to the new plex server and only 10 of them will show up in the library. They all work physically when played but all of them will not show up in scanning. I have cleared cache, refreshed meta, renamed files all in an attempt to have the plex server recognize new media. But nothing works.

I’m a little irritated that this is the only support available because I’m not sure how long it will take to answer my question. At any rate, I would greatly appreciate help on this. I have a logs running in the background on the server but I’m not sure what to attach.

Were you able to resolve this? If not, my first question would be about your file naming, and to see a screenshot of your directories and file names, and the paths and filenames of the files that are NOT scanning correctly.

All while Plex was watching…

Renamed them to what?.. Show us your file names and structures:

TV Shows?

MP4 Files?

Typically, you name and structure files BEFORE they go in a library, but many times when you ‘fix files’ you’ll need to Plex Dance to clear out the bundle and create a new one:

Or it won’t work.
