Adding on here that I can’t believe Playlists support was shipped without such a core piece of functionality. Please also change how you engage with the community over these features as this 400+ thread of complaints and vitriol could have been easily avoided.

+1 for my $0.02. I would really like this feature. I would like for my wife and I to be able to share playlists.
+1 have only just started sharing my Plex libraries and I’m shocked that I cannot also share my playlists and collections along with the library content.

This feature is long overdue.
Seems Plex is too busy chasing ad revenue instead of focusing on being the ultimate personal media server platform. I have zero interest in streaming corporate content, ads, propaganda/news, etc.

Another Plex Pass user here.
This is a feature I just cannot believe it hasn’t been implemented yet.
Also, it cannot be replaced by “collections” - I want to be able to put albums and single tracks together, “collections” differentiate between them.

I really don’t understand why I even need to share a playlist, just like the media I share it should be available to anyone I have given access to my server to. I am a plexpass user and I think this should be a top priority…

+1 for shared playlists amongst users (“create a shared playlist”) since Plex dev may argue who has control over the list, sync, how often to sync amongst users blaa blaa, can everyone modify it etc, … no just the person who created it.

I may have commented on this thread much earlier, but here’s a thought: get rid of the sh***ty Plex Movie feature (which is really nothing more than a poor man’s Netflix) and add instead the option of shareable Playlists, for both video and music. As for those who can’t understand why someone would need a video playlist when they already have access to all the files on my server? I have created playlists for, among other things: all the films and TV in the MCU, in the order in which one should watch them; films featuring trains or train travel; Collider’s best horror films of the new millennium; the BFI’s 100 Thrillers to See Before You Die; films about artists and their models; and complete retrospectives of Renoir, Mizoguchi, Lang, Rivette, Scorsese, Lynch and Soderbergh, among others (this last may be replicable using the “Director” links, but only on the web app and not on the player, which does not offer such information). Just last month my sister asked me if I had films from David Lynch. Were I able, I might have linked her directly to the existing playlist. So for the love of God, it’s been six years since this request went up. FIX THE PROBLEM!

I can already share libraries and collections. Libraries have multiple sort options but not custom sorting and collections sorts by the release date. Thus, the three main words as to why shareable playlists are being requested - sorting, sorting, sorting. Marvel and Star Wars for example could/should be watched in order according to the gospel. That sort order is possible in playlists but since I cannot share playlists all users would have to tediously create and rearrange the order on their own, if they figure out it is possible and then how to do it. Let me do it for them.
Sometimes I have just added a movie or a series of movies I would love to promote via the Plex interface using playlists.
