Has there ever been an official comment from Plex on shared playlists? Is there any way to verify that they read these, or better yet to get some form of comment or reply from them?

Would really like to see this feature to be implemented, it’s awesome to be able to share your personal playlists with a bunch of friends! Great way to get my friends to hear some different music or watch some movies they’d never watch.

Please make playlist sharing happen. I have been waiting for this for years now. I use playlist to make my top 25 lists for TV Shows, best star trek eps… Just want to share this with my plex pass friends

+1 Yet another really hoping they’d add this feature. As has been said if they can add Live TV / DVR which the majority of users don’t care about this should be less than a day’s work and would impact a lot of users. The main reason I still use Spotify is because I can share playlists with friends, as the musician in our group that’s my responsibility.
Even if there was a way to export and import them that would be something…

Another +1 for this feature.
Here’s one you might haven’t seen: I have an extensive collection of Japanese Rock on my server. My friend and I just went to see an awesome J-Rock band called Asian Kung-Fu Generation. I thought it would be cool to make a playlist of the setlist from that evening. Here’s the issue: I speak Japanese and my friend doesn’t. So I can’t tell him, “just add ‘稲村ヶ崎ジェーン’ to your playlist” because he doesn’t know how to spell or even SAY 稲村ヶ崎ジェーン (It’s “Imuragasaki Jane” in case you’re wondering, haha)
Obviously, if playlist sharing is made available, I could create the playlist for us (which I already did) and then he can access it no problem, and without having to learn Japanese. Haha.

Until Plex hires some content curators to fashion a proper Discovery dashboard, enormous libraries will remain inhibitive for people who don’t know what’s available in any given section. I forget what’s even in my own libraries much less a friend who has no idea what I’ve collected. When you have libraries with over 50,000 songs and 3,000 movies and 1500 TV shows, Plex really begins to show its greatest weakness, which is content (re)Discovery.
There is no substitute for properly curated radio stations, TV guides, and movie recommendations, but if they treated Playlists like just another Library, you could them create your own playlists and simply share the Playlist library like you do any other.

I’m also going to post here that I’d love this feature. I haven’t had a problem yet with movies/tv (my collection is not as huge as some), but it would be great to share some of my music playlists with family.
I have a small user-base so even a manual way to hack it would work for me in the meantime.
