How exactly do I specify an IMDb title number to force a match?

The matching agents for movies work fine most of the time, when the IMDb or TheMovieDB has an entry for the title. When it doesn’t, I understand: I must create one, or ask someone to create one who has the privilege.

But several times I’ve had titles consistently mismatch, or not match at all, even though the IMDb did have the title.

How exactly do I specify an IMDb title name to force a match to that title? I’ve tried this several times, and it always fails.

You can force it to match with the correct IMDb id (e.g. tt01234567). Go to “Fix Match”, click “Search Options”, enter the IMDb id into the Title field and remove the contents from the Year field, like so:

Press search and Plex should come up with just 1 (the correct one) title.

I’ve never in my life used an IMDB number to match a movie…
If the movie isn’t listed at TMDB - It will be when I add it (joining takes about 30 seconds), but really, I can’t remember EVER adding a movie to TMDB - it’s already there. FileBot goes to TMDB, pre-matches it, gets the name they use and it’s over in less than the blink of an eye.

Why anyone would fight Plex Movie and IMDB to get a listing for a movie that’s most likely already listed at TMDB is way, way beyond me…

What’s also beyond me, is why anyone would post a question like this and not even bother to provide the name of the movie they’re battling Plex Movie over… I could have found it at TMDB is seconds, and if not, in a few more seconds, added it (even as RARE as that may be)…
