Matching using IMBD or themoviedb ID numbers

Hi there. I have a movie file which corresponds to the following pages:

I have been told that if I put the IMBD number (tt3900116) or moviedb number (261832) into the title in search options, it should force a match. This isn’t working for me. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help

Anyone have any thoughts? Have I posted this in the wrong place or something?

I have exactly the same problem with the latest Plex server. It cannot match title tt2248234 to the file. I tried both imdb and tmdb and still cannot match.
Plex support - please try to recreate it on your plex server and let me know how it can be fixed (matched). I tried looking at the logs and it says it got the payload but I cannot see what’s inside that response payload (while having verbose on) also I cannot find the log entry of the actual poller request to see what is the actual URL request.

yeah, noticed that too. although I haven’t tried with the latest release, Version 1.3.3.3148. I thought it was just a one-off glitch for the movie I was trying to match, but apparently not.

I just got an instant, first time match with:

A Movies Library
…Henry V Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre (2012).mp4
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/categories/200028098-Media-Preparation

If you are using mp4 files - as I am - and those files have embedded and bogus information in the Title Field - mine have none - go here:
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200241558-Agents
Move Local Media Assets to the bottom of every agent list you can find under every tab. Drag and Drop to the bottom of the list. I did this a LONG time ago.

With LMA in the topmost position Plex stubbornly prefers embedded titles in MP4/M4V files and if those titles are not in compliance with Plex Naming standards there’s big trouble ahead. Any other file type is not affected.

I was able to recreate your issue using tt2248234. I think I know the problem. tt2248234 is a short and not a movie. Plex’s Movie Agent only has access to Movies so trying to match the IMDB ID for a non-movie won’t work. It’s a known limitation. For TheMovieDB, using it’s ID is not supported, you need to use the name. TheMoveDB doesn’t have the English name “Lesnye skazki”, only the original, so you should be able to get a match using "
Лесные сказки".
