How to change metadata scraper

Good Evening All

I have just upgraded my media drive and upgraded Plex Server to the latest version (1.25.6.5577) and I am having a few issues with getting the correct metadata for my movies etc…

I usually use TVDB, TMDB etc for scraping but Plex defaults to Plex Movie (Legacy) by default and I don’t want it to. I have spent hours correcting the mismatches on TV and movies that never before had a problem. And I do use the correct folder/file settings and put the year on duplicate named films and UK/US on TV shows. For instance, Blade Runner 2049 was matched to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood…? Also when I try to manually fix the match Plex Movie (Legacy) is the only agent available in the drop down menu. Also it is not scraping specials on some TV shows from TVDB that did before and are named correctly.

How do I tell Plex not to default to Plex Movie (Legacy)? When I try to untick the box there is a no go icon that comes up on the mouse pointer.

How can I get things back to how they were before?

Kind Regards

CCF

TheTVDB is only used for series in Plex. Not for movies.

The default agent for a newly created movie library in Plex is “Plex Movie” [without the “(Legacy)”].
Here is how to change that for an existing library: Upgrading a Movie library to the use the new Plex Movie Agent | Plex Support

You get better matching if you stick closely to the naming guide. Naming and organizing your Movie files | Plex Support

If you use arbitrary subfolders (like e.g. for alphabetical index letters, or for other arbitrary categorizations like actors, genres, or “universes”), you definitely want to use one dedicated subfolder per movie.
