How to change my email address

I cannot believe how hard it is to just change my email address to my account. It apparently isn’t very user friendly.

I go to Account, Email Address and Edit. Seems pretty basic to overtype the email address displayed. It’s currently an older account where I have 2FA from google.

I’ve tried this, I don’t know what Verification Code to use. I’ve tried the old one. I don’t have one set up for the new email address unless I use Microsoft Authenticator. I don’t want to use Google, Facebook or Apple iTunes accounts for this.

Then I get an error that says I’ve made too many changes recently (none have gone through to be honest), or I get this message “A valid password and verification code are required to perform this action”.

Honestly this is not user intuitive when compared to other accounts where you just type over your old information.

I want to share my library with strangers, I don’t want them to know my personal email address!

Ok. I just have to wait for the system to allow me to try again.

I have used the 2FA but I didn’t know it was for my account, I thought it was for my email.

Strange as I have not made any changes, and the 2FA that I use to login to new devices gives me the error code that I posted above in quotes.

After 10 tries it finally works (from a different device as well).
