How to change subtitles offset?

Plex is downloading the subtitles from opensubtitles.org, but they’re presented with 2-3 seconds offsest.

I saw some videos on YouTube recommending pressing keyboard shortcut "m" and adjust. Nothing happens when I press "m". Is this shortcut for an old version of plex? Should in not work for windows server?

How do I adjust the offset?

Thanks!

Plex Home Theater is the only Plex Player app you can change the subtitle offset in

in PHT you press M to bring up the control bar then go to audio and sub settings

Why???

Why???

Not quite sure, but I've used this site before to do a shift:  http://subshifter.bitsnbites.eu/

It's worked well for me.

afaik the PHT is based on XBMC frodo that allowed these changes. i’m guessing the other apps don’t.
i hope the Plex Media Player that is being made these days will not make the option go away.
btw, if you want, in PHT, you could assign shortcuts to the subtitle delay +/- and also the audio delay +/-, i have the explanation here:

The samsung plex player allows offsetting too.

It’s a key feature that should be a ‘must’ deliverable in all apps.

I agree, the subtitles timing is a must and the reason I’m losing so much time using plex clients

Please add subtitle offset to all platforms please :pray:t3:. Roku first :joy: (or second after PHT)

Love subs but honestly it’s not great compared to VLC. Please fix.

This should be a basic feature on any of the apps or players associated with Plex.

Four years and this still isn’t an option? Good grief. It wouldn’t be necessary if the subtitles were played at the proper timing, But they aren’t, at least not on my Roku TV. They are delayed by almost a full second. They play perfectly synced on literally anything that can display subtitles on my PC. Come on…

Please, please implement sub offset for all clients. I’m deaf and I really can’t watch anything without subs, but the auto-downloaded subs timing is all over the place and Plex can’t help me. :frowning:

I’m very hard-of-hearing and can’t watch most shows without subtitles. I bought the Plex lifetime deal when I heard a bit better. Now, I can’t fully enjoy it. I use the PC and Roku players. Plex needs to make this universal. Not doing so might even be a violation of handicap access laws.

+1 for the subtitle offset feature. I actually remember doing this in the plex media player app a while back. Probably one of the updates I did got rid of the feature. I also think it’s a must needed feature.

+1 for the subtitle offset feature! If we pay for a Plex Pass, customers should be heard! Please do +1 if you agree!

What the ■■■■. How can Plex call themselves a media player without subtitle options??? 5 years after people are begging for the feature and no response? Reprehensible. If the free VLC has been doing this for ages, there’s absolutely no acceptable explanation as to why Plex can’t match them. Can’t believe I spent $130 on Plex without realizing this painfully basic feature isn’t available. May try to get a refund.

Bump - please address this. Subtitle offset is a major need to an already great app.

According to this article, subtitle offset is only supported on some platforms:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/subtitle-offsets/

It’s strange to me that this is not on all platforms. Is there some technical limitation that prevents if from being added? If that is the case, the Windows platform would seem to be an odd omission, as I imagine it would be the most powerful and capable platform, from a hardware resources perspective.

I use Plex on my Rokus and would love to see this added. It is one of the only reasons I am still running Kodi as a backup on my HTPC.
