How to clear my sync watch status

I would like to clear my watch status from plex.tv, I had this feature enabled, it now disabled and i would like this data cleared. You can clear an individual click “Remove Activity” but i would like to clear all my activities

I’m pretty sure deleting an individual watch event isn’t enough to completely clear it. If you delete say a movie from “my watch history”, then search for the movie in discover, it will still show as watched. If you both mark it as “unwatched” and delete it, maybe that is enough, but I have my doubts, and that will be very tedious to do for an entire history

Yes i agree, it’s very disappoint there is no information on clearing any synced data.

One of the setting pages of this feature has the title “You’re in control” I don’t feel i’m in control and feel very disappoint with plex. I can’t put my feelings down in writing how disappointed i am right now.

I do accept this type of behaviour has become normal and is common with all tech companies, but still

If you are located in the EU by law they have to offer you a way to delete all data they have on you.

From the info on this page: https://www.plex.tv/en-gb/about/privacy-legal/#privacy-pms-collect-info

You can request they delete the data they have on you, but (I think) it seems that requesting this will completely delete your account. So in the case of those with a lifetime plex pass, you will lose this.

I have deleted all my watch history from my profile page, but the counters still show the numbers of Movies, Shows and Episode watched. I want this info gone, but do not want to delete my account. Which does not seem possible.

Yes i don’t want to delete all my data & my plex pass.

I think it just having greater control over the watched history data.

I mentioned this on another thread but I’ll reference it here also.

Hopefully they’ll allow users to delete this but I’d not hold my breath.

As an EU citizen this is in violation of the GDPR. I will add this to my report to them as well.

fwiw, they are also storing the content sent in messages from the ‘Report issue’ feature with no way to opt out or disable the feature. (or delete the messages)

Yes, the new reporting issue option is another annoyance. However, the only folks I share with are family so it’ll never be used anyhow on my server.

Well the EU commissioners love to punish American companies see FB/Meta.

I don’t get it. If they wanted to do this right, make it opt in, and the problem would solve itself. Instead they went about this in the absolute dumbest way possible.

No one wanted, or asked for privacy invasion. Did plex hire someone from Meta to run the company I am unaware of?
