I’m trying to set up subtitle display in Plex 8.8.1.21332 (0798457a), but I’m not getting success!
I read several FAQ’s and tips on the internet. But…
Is it possible to put an external subtitle on the content made available on app Plex of the Android TV Box?
Can anybody help me?
I’m unclear on your issue. If you want to use external subtitles, place the subtitle file next to the video file on PMS. You cannot use subtitles saved on your Android TV device if that is what you are trying to do.

As I said, I’m new to the subject and I think I’m making a little mess.
I have an Android TV Box that came with the Plex app installed.
When I open the Plex app, there are some videos available.
No subtitles or English subtitles.
I would like to add subtitles (local or download) in another language, but I believe that for that I would need to have Plex Server, which is not the case.
With that, I understand that the Plex app will only display subtitles if I had the Plex Server providing the DLNA service.
Thus, I consider the doubt as clarified!

I think you’re talking about the “Online Media Sources” provided by Plex.

You can’t add your own subtitles to these.
