I am frustrated with the random, cluttered look of my PLEX media when viewed in “grid” mode. These media “poster” search engines do an absolutely horrible job of finding suitable icons. Sadly, PLEX defers to this process—even when you set the parameters to “use local media.”
It would be a good thing for PLEX to provide the capability of turning off this “media poster” process entirely—such that the user would have total control to NOT use externally sources graphics. Perhaps PLEX is working on this.
Alternatively, I am willing to create my own “local media”, for use as icons embedded in TAG data, or as “folder” posters. To that end, it is unclear what image resolution and aspect ratio I should use. I read somewhere that it should be as aspect ratio of 1 to 1.5, which I did, but the “posters did not show up correctly. As for resolution, is it 800 by 400, or 800 by 800?
