I’ve recently made a video to help people new to Plex with the creation of Collections. Long time users know this stuff already but I’m hoping this helps a few people. I didn’t find anything that had all this information in one place when I was looking so I created one myself. Let me know if you like it.
(edit - I don’t know if this is in the right location on the forum or not. Mods please relocate if there’s a better place)
OK, I’ve used collections fairly recently. I even have one still there. But now the “Collections” box, in the Tags area of a show’s info, simply isn’t there.
I cannot, any longer, create collections. It’s not that the collections themselves have disappeared. Rather, it’s that the mechanism as documented above, that lets me make collections, has disappeared.
Well, maybe that’s where I’m confused. I would swear I did add individual episodes to a collection a month or two ago. I collected the Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum crossovers, no problem.
And that capability is in fact not there now. So it was never supposed to be there?
I know (for a fact?) it used to be…or maybe I was hallucinating.
If it’s not supposed to be there, then that’s the answer. I’m cool with that.
Great video! While your very informative video speaks to Collections and Playlists for movies, it would have improved the video by mentioning that your process works for music tracks also. Just one mention, at the beginning, would have made this clear to beginners using Plex. Thanks Susan
Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you liked the video. When I made that video I wasn’t even using Plex for playing music so it didn’t even occur to me. I wish it had.
