How to default screen to DVR guide

I am happily running my Plex server on my Synology setup. I have been wishing lately that i would use the “live Tv&dvr” option to watch tv versus using my tv tuner. Maybe it is not a good idea but i like the ability to use the guide, pause tv, and record while watching if i feel the need.

I have Roku’s on my tv’s and we use those for plex, Netflix, etc.

Here is my concern/question: When i start the plex program in Roku, i find my server and enter my pin (i tried to remove this and no luck). Once I enter my pin i get the options for plex: Movies, Music, TV Recordings, and Live TV&DVR. I then have to scroll down to DVD and choose that, then sometimes it comes up with “What’s On” versus guide. Is it at all possible to have plex automagically start in the Live TV & DVR mode and show me the guide? Open plex, have a guide. Even better i could have it come up showing Channel 11 and make it easy that way. Then it is just turning channels up or down.

Is this a possibility so my WAF goes up? At this point there is no way she will click around within Plex just to watch tv when she could just choose input and watch the tuner.

Appreciate any advice.

You can get part of the way there.

To remove the need to enter you PIN, configure the client to automatically sign in:

Settings: Plex for Roku | Plex Support

To make it easier to navigate to Live TV & DVR, ensure it’s pinned in your side bar and move it directly under Home:

Plex client’s always open to the home screen. (I think there may be an exception if you quit to the device’s home screen and immediately reopen Plex, but you can rely on that behavior.)
