How to delete Downloaded content from iOS device

I cannot figure out how to delete Downloaded content (neither movies nor TV episodes) from PMS on my iPad. I go to Downloads>Movies where I see a list of all downloaded movies, both played and unplayed. If I long-press on the movie(s), I want to delete the pop-up context menu has options for Play, Mark as Unwatched and Add to Watchlist but no option to delete. If I tap on the movie to get the details screen (the screen that shows the cast, video info, and play button), there’s a check mark there to toggle it between watched/unwatched and a … which opens up options for Mark as Unwatched and File Info but, again, not visible delete option.

Similar problem with TV shows. Long-pressing opens a context menu with options for Play, Suffle, Mark as watched, Mark as Unwatched and Add to Watchlist but no delete option. The individual episode screen has similar options to movies with the check mark to toggle Watched/Unwatched and a … context with Go to Show, Go to Season, Mark as Unwatched and File Info. But, once again, no visible way to delete watched content.

When I downloaded the shows, I selected the options to “Download: Next 10 unplayed episodes” and “Delete Downloaded Epsiodes: After a Day:” I would have expected this to remove downloaded episodes “after a day” after they were watched (and thus no longer met the unplayed criteria”. But all shows remain on my iPad.

What am I missing here? Seems like a pretty obvious feature. How to I delete watched movies and TV shows I no longer want taking up space on my iPad?

  1. Go to Downloads
  2. Select the Items tab
  3. Delete the download job related to the movie or episodes (you cannot delete individual items if they were downloaded as part of a bigger download job).
    • Long-press the download item and select Delete
    • Swipe the download job to the left and click the red Delete button

IIRC, a download job like Next 10 unplayed episodes should indeed update once you completed watching some of the episodes and (a) delete the watched ones, (b) download new ones.

Thank you Tom H. That worked great for my movies.

I see what you’re saying how you can’t download individual episodes if you downloaded it as part of a larger download like a season. Does that effectively there’s no way to keep a “rolling“ number of episodes down loaded such as “next 3 unplayed episodes” such that whenever you watch one of your unplayed episodes it automatically grabs the next unplayed one so that you always have three new episodes downloaded?

Or will it keep downloading new episodes whenever you have less than three unplayed episodes but you can’t delete them without deleting the whole series because it’s all part of one download instruction?

From what I know it should do just that:
If you open the app, the download jobs get synced. If a job was created based on a rule, this should trigger an update to the downloads if applicable (e.g. your „n unwatched episodes“ item should delete downloaded items you’ve watched and download new unwatched ones)

I cannot currently verify this.
Can you confirm the watched episodes of yours are actually watched to the end and have no time left (e.g. from skipping the credits)?

Yes, NOW it is doing that. I had some “stuck” downloads going on. Once I deleted them, the download unwatched episodes/delete watched episodes feature started working correctly.

Thank you. What you told me about accessing the items led me to the problem and solution.
