When using Plex Web, I select a tv show and am now forced to view “related shows” along with the seasons of the show i selected, making a confusing and convoluted viewing experience. What makes matters even worse is the related shows have absolutely nothing to do with the selection I made. Is there a way to toggle off the “related shows” from appearing or is this a bug?
More than likely it is not able to be disabled. It is not in any other app.
I, too, would like it gone. In fact I want Plex, or any other program, to never make any recommendations. Plex does NOT know better than I what I might want to watch.
This also applies to the “Post Play” screen and most of the “Hubs” they should all be able to be turned off.
I know Plex thinks that their users are simply too stupid to browse and find and play content BUT that is not true. All these invasive “features” should be able to be turned off.
For a lot of use all we really need is properly behaving watched markers and the ability to keep track of TV series and other basic features. What we don’t need is Plex telling us what to watch.
Plex may think it is the media god but, in reality, it is just a tool and like a tool it should do its job without getting in the way. Much of the “enhancements” Plex has come up with get in the way more than they help many people and therefore should be able to be turned off.
Using Plex with its new improvements as a tool for media enjoyment is a little like using a hammer to drive a nail but first coating the hammer’s handle with Vaseline and rounding off the head.
I don’t like this feature either. I wish I could turn it off.
