I would prefer not to see “Related Shows” on the web interface – it’s just clutter for me. Hoping there’s a way to turn it off.
Here are your options - for your own media:
I assume ‘Related Shows’ originates from Online Media Sources (Plex Movies and TV) - if that is the case, you have no options - except one:
Note:
As a sort of Work-Around, you can Re-Order Online Resources items nearer to the bottom of the Sidebar - so you won’t see associated hubs on the Home Screen unless you scroll down.
Client Sidebars will need to be adjusted separately.
… and if you mean on ‘Preplay Screens’ (just saw one myself) - no way to eradicate those. Those are ‘Features’ - Like ‘Reviews’ and ‘Blurred’ Backgrounds. Like 'em or not.
Thank you for the suggestion, but all my “Online Media Sources” are already disabled. The problem is that Plex still displays “Related Shows,” but just from within my library. I really don’t need to see those since I know my library contents already. I hope someday Plex will provide an option to simply not display a “Related Shows” section. But thanks again for responding.
You cannot disable that.
Please specify at which location you are seeing this “Related Shows” hub.
A screenshot (of the whole screen!) helps clearing things up.
Hello Otto - Thank you for your response. Here’s a screenshot of the Plex Web interface that shows the location of the “Related Shows” section just below the “Cast” section (at the bottom of this screenshot). If possible, I’d like to stop that section from displaying because it just clutters up my screen with stuff I don’t need. But I’m beginning to think, there’s no way around it and I’ll just be ignoring it until Plex offers an option to disable it. But if anyone can tell me how to turn it off, that would be awesome!
That would be the “preplay screen” of a tv show.
You are correct in assuming that this unfortunately cannot be customized.
Thank you. I’m learning more about Plex every day. Today you clued me into a new term for me, “preplay screen.” Cool.
Hope you don’t mind, but I think I’ll take down the screenshot now.
I haven’t tried but what happens if you delete all the tags/genre’s?
That’ll remove the “Other Genre Movies/Shows/…” hub but not related items in general.
