How to download old version?

Hello!

Sony TV KDL-32CX520

Plex Media Server was at 0.9.12 and everything worked well …

Installed the latest update and received on the TV a dark screen without sound (progress is as if it shows).

How to download 0.9.12 again?

(for Ubuntu)

That version is 3 (!!) years old. Why did you wait 3 years to perform mandatory software upgrades? Let’s just fix your current setup, that’s the only support we can give you :slight_smile:

So tell us more about your Plex server, Plex client (e.g. app version or DLNA) and post the logs.

While it was working, there was no sense to update … but the attempt to update everything broke (

Let’s try to fix it, I’ll be very happy)

0.9.12 is not available from Plex.tv. The oldest available version from that source is 1.0.2.2413-7caf41d.

Even if you could obtain the file for 0.9.12, it wouldn’t work. See:

Plex Media Server 1.12.1.4885
Device - Sony Bravia TV KDL-32CX520 over DLNA

/edited:
Plex detect device as Sony Bravia 2011
and runs a direct stream on it, without transcoding, and that’s the problem.

I found the settings file, but I did not find the information how to fix it.

Sony Bravia 2011.xml

Sony Bravia 2011.xml

I just compared this with the profile in 0.9.12.x and the profile has not really changed at all.

Please try another video with a lower resolution and not ac3. Just to make sure Direct Stream of 1080p h264 ac3 is the problem.

Edit: Also optimize the database. Click on “…” next to “LIBRARIES” in the web client.

After optimizing the file to Universal TV - the file was launched on the TV

Can I set up automatic transcoding online? (as it was in the old version)

“Optimized for TV” or “Universal TV” with custom bitrate? If it’s the first try to set the upper bound for video.bitrate to “8000” (from 20000) in the profile. This change is not permanent, yet. Just try it and if it does work, I will show you how to make this change permanent.

I replaced the profile of “Sony Bravia 2011” with a bitrate of 20,000 to 8,000 and restarted the server. Did not work.

I choose optimization standard “Optimized for TV” and after recoding works well.

Please add the line <Match name="video.frameRateMode" value="cfr" /> from the “Sony Bravia 2010.xml” and you can also try to lower video.level to 31.

After changing 41 to 31, the TV immediately turns on pausing.

Tried to add this line
<Match name="video.frameRateMode" value="cfr" />
, but without result (probably I’m adding to the wrong section of the file)

Please put the attached file into “/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Profiles”. You will have to create the “Profiles” directory, as it does not exist in the default installation.

Edit: used level 40 in this file.
Edit2: If this does not work, please consider using a real Plex client e.g. on the FireTV or Chromecast.
Edit3: Also take a look at the dedicated DLNA section, especially the following thread.

This does not work((

Edit2: The TV is too old, you will not install anything on it ((
Edit3: I did not find anything similar to the desired profile. Tried a couple of configs, did not help (

** Thank you everyone for trying to help!**
But apparently I have to either look for another software or write yourself.

The old version can certainly be seen for, but it’s too likely to get a trojan, if download from another sites.

It is a pity that good products are spoiled for the sake of beauty.

p/s Sorry for my english.

I meant to say to just use a FireTV Stick or Google Chromecast to upgrade the “Smart TV” features of your old Sony. However, a one time fee of 5$ for the Plex app is also required :neutral:

This is another additional device, another wire and another remote control panel. And I have devices and wires and so many)

It’s easier to put mediatomb and set it on a directory with a converted video, for example, a command

#!/bin/sh
mkdir convert
for f in *.avi *.MOV *.mkv *.mp4 *.MTS *.AVI ; #
do
ffmpeg -i "$f" -f dvd -vcodec mpeg2video -r 25.00 -filter:v scale=720:576 -aspect 16:9 -b:v 50000k -mbd rd -trellis 1 -flags +mv0 -cmp 2 -subcmp 2 -acodec mp2 -b:a 128k -ar 48000 -ac 2 -threads 2 convert/$f.mpg;
done

It’s very strange that in plex you can not do transcoding for all files in the desired format.

or is it still possible?
