I have a movie that was matched correctly by plex. But it seems that there is an old TV show with the same name. So now I have that video showing in ‘movies’ and ‘TV shows’. I have not tried playing the ‘TV hosw’. The ‘TV show’ has wrong posters and info. Not sure how to delete the TV show but keep the movie.
step 1: always keep movies and tv shows in separate libraries
step 2: be precise about your file names… for best results, always include the year your movie was released!
personally my preferred approach to fixing wrong matches is to fix the names and to ensure they’re hitting it off. This way I’m set in case I have to re-build my library at some point.
if you don’t want to do that or cannot get the corrected file name to match… you can manually correct a match. Click the “…” button on the movie and select “fix incorrect match”. This will allow you to search for the right details or to change the agent from your default…

You will absolutely need to separate your TVShows and Movies. Plex uses two different agents to match each. If they’re both pointed to the same folder, Plex is going to try to match a single file both as a show and as a movie. To prevent this, you’re going to have to split them apart.
