So to be clear here it wasn’t a bug?
Those 3rd party providers will always show? There’s no going back and despite Danes comments about monitoring feedback it’s here to stay?

My experience with Plex is that they had a good product and their excessive drive for profit caused them to change it in such a way that they make more money but the functionality is nearly ruined.
Plex has moved, with their “improvements” over the last few years from the best piece of software I own to one of the worst. They have bloated their “product” so much that it is no longer fun to use. That is what they have done added things to make more money while making it a chore to use their software.
But I, and the others that actually want Plex to become a good product again, are really wasting our time. Plex is not going to change back and they are also not going to listen to any user feedback. If they make money then they cannot possibly be doing anything wrong.
Wait, am I understanding this correctly @BigWheel ? Even if all streaming services and online media sources are disabled, they will still be displayed in searches & watchlist “related” movies?
Well they are now.
Without a less vague answer that would actually kill all the negative feedback that keeps everyone happy then it seems they’re here to stay.
But Plex have a history with stuff like this.
What was vague about my answer.
yes you are understanding
That is a shame. Basically guarantees I won’t use the Watchlist feature at all.
It simply seemed to imply the ordering of the streaming services?
I never ever said anything about changing, nor did I promise anything!
I only said we where monitoring, and collecting feedback!
Do NOT put words in my mouth!
After fiddling with it some more, I need to add another comment / question / feature request to this new functionality…
If I leave the “Discover” tab pinned to the sidebar, is it possible to NOT have the Discover content also show up in the “Home” tab? In other words, is there anyway to customize which, if any, Discover content also shows up in the Home tab? For example, I now have “Trending Trailers”, “Trending on your Services”, etc. duplicated on the Home tab. It seems redundant and unnecessary. With Libraries you give us the option to turn certain things off of the Home tab, if there is a way to do it with the Discover tab, I haven’t found it.
That is what I understand as well. It just shows exactly how stupid Plex has become.
Hold on, I guess Plex is not stupid. After all Plex is making a ton of money and that is all they seem to care about. They have grown big enough so that “users” do not matter past the dollars they bring in…
Plex has just completely bought in on H. L. Mencken’s idea:
No one in this world has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people.
Guys, chill out a bit.
I never suggested anything about going back.
Nor did I remotely suggest you promised anything.
Do NOT put words in my mouth.
yes the one you select will be listed before other external streaming services. I personally only subscribe to Amazon prime and only have that selected. On the universal details page for an item, after my server and friends servers, then Plex streaming( if enabled) then will be my selection, Amazon, then all other streaming services where it is available in my region.
That’s not what I’m asking.
I have NO, NONE, ZERO third party providers enabled.
The fact that despite that, using search still gives results for those providers is an oversight is what I’m asking.
It is not.
Thank you.
So now, EVEN WITH ALL PROVIDERS DISABLED, you will search providers and shove that crap down our throat, when we all have our PERSONAL MEDIA SERVERS for a reason?!?
You have got to be kidding.
I am honestly disgusted.
Clearly not
