How to get custom subtitle colors when transcoding

Okay, so I was under the impression that you could never get custom colors when transcoding. But, I’ve tested it, and on my iPhone and iPad, I can still get yellow subtitles while transcoding, if I Chromecast from my Android phone I can also get yellow subtitles, but if I use the native Android TV on my Chromecast, when it transcodes, I can only get white.

Is there any way to get whatever is happening on iOS and the regular Chromecast to also happen on Android TV?

Hmm. I can only get white subtitles regardless if transcoding or not on my Android TV so think maybe a bug in general with picking a color in android TV app.

if not transcoding it uses the correct color?

Yes. It does this often on the Android app too. This has allegedly been a known error for like years, is this really the first you’re hearing of it?
