How to have two diferent versions of the same TV show

I have some Anime where I have two vertions of the files, one with an original Japanese audio track and one with a dubbed English audio track. They are both encoded the same so if I try “play version…” they both show as “0.8 Mbps, 720p” and it is pot luck which is which. They come from diferent sources so neither file has both audio options and they can’t be combined because some scenes are diferent between the versions so the audio from one wouldn’t match the video from the other.

For movies we have the {edition} tagging option but as far as I can tell there is nothing like this for TV episodes.

What is the intended method for dealing with situations like this in Plex?

That does work, but it’s a bit hacky and won’t resolve if you move or rename files as they will just recombine. Are there no plans to add a propper way to do this (like the {edition} tag from movies)?

I cannot speak about future plans.
There is a feature request for this. Add "edition" support to TV-Shows
