Edition support was added for movie libraries recently:

Please add that to TV-Show libraries as well. There are lots of possibilities to use such a feature. In fact I’m naming some episodes already that way:

This would be fantastic, for example for censored and uncensored versions of TV Show episodes.
Yes please for this edition for TV Shows, I have plenty of shows on DVD and Blu Ray that have multiple editions of the same episode and would love to separate them by edition.
Yeah, would be very useful, for 4K Library and non 4K !
This could be very useful to distinguish series that are different from Broadcast and their DVD/BR release, or Uncensored releases. Especially older series that were released multiple times with very different editing or encoding by different publishers over the years. Like how Robotech has 3 very different DVD releases.
This is exactly what I’m wanting this for.
However, I don’t use editions for movies, I split them apart and rename them. I would like to do the same for TV series.
I can split TV series too, but its a little jankie. When new episodes are being added plex adds it the wrong tv series and they get mixed up.
This behaviour feels like a bug and if Plex Dev’s resolve this we may get simular functionality to editions.
A fairly easy and manageable workaround would be to create a new library and name it appropriately and add all the shows that match that description.
For example if most of your shows are widescreen you would have a library called [ TV Shows ] with the majority of you television show library here. Then for all of the ones that are a duplicate shows but in 4:3 standard you could name this library something like [ TV Shows (4:3) ] and add the respective shows to this library. This way you can just navigate to the library edition/format you wish to watch.
Hope this helps
We need this!
I support this as well. The Three Stooges DVDs have both a B&W and Color edition i’d like to add.
Just jumping in to add my support for this suggestion. I have several shows which would be nice to have edition/version support for, alternate edits, combined/split pilots, finales, alternate releases, etc…
Would also be great for having dubbed and original files. It’s a hassle to find the correct version each episode.
Yes, the edition feature should work for TV-Shows too! I hope it will be available soon. I also have multiple episodes or series with different audio or video or length or cut. It would be very helpful to have that here too…
I agree, I have a lot of TV Shows with multiple different versions of episodes from Star Trek to Battlestar Galactica to Doctor Who that I would love to see me tagging these different versions so they show up.
+1 for this feature. I have quite a few shows that come with extended editions of an episode, and I would like the option of choosing which one to watch.
Just like on Movies where you can have {edition-[Edition Name]} as shown in article below:
Naming and organizing your Movie files | Plex Support
And for Subtitiles you can add to files .en.forced.srt or .sdh.srt or .de.srt etc.
It would be nice if we can have editions for TV Shows for Languages:
{edition-en}
{edition-de}
{edition-jp}
As there are multiple TV shows (also movies) which have subbed or dubbed verisons, and I would like it so I can have the original language versions with subs and then have dubbed versions.
I know that you can have files with multiple audio files within and have plex choose based on these options:
It would be nice if we can do the same thing however with multiple video files.

This would be extremely useful for foreign language shows where I have both a subbed and dubbed version of the season. Anime in particular. Right now I have to put the Dubbed version in my Television library and the Subbed version in my Anime library which is not ideal.
100% Yes please, I need this in my life!
I mostly want this for episodes that have commentary tracks. A lot of shows have separate video files for their commentary tracks. My currently workaround is to mark these episodes as an extra (category ‘other’). I have had to do this workaround for separate versions of episodes. Example of this would be the HD and non-HD episodes of Star Trek TOS or extended versions of episodes (Star Trek TNG or the X-Files) I thought we would get this with TV shows after editions was allowed with movies.
