Hi. Im having problems with my Plex player.
I installed it on my Synology NAS and tried to play it on my PC running Windows 10.
The problem is that when I do the instalation and I open Plex then Settings then server - it says “An update is available. Please install manually.”
My Version is 1.13.4.5271
When I go to the main screen it says:
“A Plex Media Server update is available for the server Voyager! 1.13.5.5332”
When I download the file I don’t know how to instal it? Do I instal it on my NAS or? Because when I try to open it, it doesn’t list my Plex program.
If you have your Plex Media Server installed on the Synology, you’ll need to update it there. Connect to your Synology’s DSM and goto the packet manager.
The package manager will either show you an available update for the Plex Media Server (asking you to update it) – or you can manually install the version you downloaded (via manual installation)
Than you for your help.
Im stuck in the Synology settings on the Pacage Sources.
I have to tipe in the Name: and the Location:
When i try to tipe in the Location it is “Invalid location”
No need to get to the settings at all. – you’re completely off.
Option 1: Native Update
Open the Package Center and switch to the Installed section.
If there’s an Update button next to Plex, click it – or click Update All instead
Synology sometimes takes a little longer to update their repository. Usually this happens within a few days.
Option 2: Manual Install
UI of the current version looks slightly different – functionality and buttons are the same. => This is referring to chapter 2.3 of the link I had posted above.
