How to make Plex Server attached to Synology Video folder

Server Version#: 1.29.2.6334-7000
Player Version#:
I accidentally removed my Synology NAS from my Plex Server. Now I can not get it back. I don’t see add folder to Plex Server. I have uninstalled Plex and Re-installed Plex on my Synology NAS, but it still does not allow me to point to my video folders. When I click on Your Media I’m told to download the Plex Media server. Please Help!

I did what was stated in your reply, however, I was still not shown/allowed Plex to point to my NAS folder containing my Movies. I don’t see an menu you listing for point Plex to use my video folder on my NAS. Please help!

Did you recently update the firmware of the NAS from DSM6 to DSM7?
This is a rather large change for any app running on the NAS. Certainly for Plex.
Item #26 on the Synology FAQ deals with this specifically: Synology FAQ - Questions, Answers, and a few How-To's

Unfortunately I have not a Synology NAS myself, so my ability to advise is limited.

  1. Which version of PMS did you install?
  2. When you have opportunity,
    – Stop Plex
    – Filestation - PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server
    – Right-click LogsCompress to Logs.zip
    – Download the zip file
    – Attach the ZIP here
