New setup on Synology

I guess I screwed something up and I don’t know what. Downloaded the app from Synology, installed, gave Plex permissions to my media folder, Set up a new account with my main email and a Plex only password. now I get No Access to server. There is no way to do anything. I’m reaching the point of uninstalling and walking away from Plex. Any help out there. PS, I see articles about what I consider major system changes and I’m not comfortable with that. Only thing running through my mind is could it be the ID and Password are not on my Sysnology?

I’ve looked at Plex.tv (where all servers and accounts live)

It looks like you overlooked one step (which is VERY easy to do)

It looks like the server isn’t attached (claimed) to your account.

This is easily remedied.

  1. Uninstall the server from Package Center – Use the KEEP option
  2. Now install again, HOWEVER
    – Click the “Plex Claim Token” option
    – Click “Get Plex Claim Token” hyperlink
    – In the browser tab which opens, COPY the token
    – Return to the Package Center tab
    – PASTE the token in the box on the form
    – Click NEXT NEXT DONE and let it install
  3. If everything is successful (Internet OK), it will respond with your username and email.

Thanks a lot, I had actually finally found an old post on another site say the same thing. I got the claim code uninstalled and reinstalled using the code…fingers crossed, it appears to be working

maybe crap…all I’ve gotten is the spinning icon for 15 min now

What’s your Synology’s Network settings?

(Mine is set manually. Yours could also be set by the modem/router - DHCP)

of course the numbers different, but yes. I’m considering my setup: I have a EERO behind a Spectrum router. I’m wondering if it’s all a firewall issue, that I don’t think I know enough to correct. Mine was on the DHCP but I tried the manual per another post. Got what is likely a dumb question: should my Plex login be the same as my main account on the Synology NAS? I thinking no, but maybe it should?

Okay, don’t know what I did other than mess some with user permissions and I’m not sure that did anything, but I’m in and libraries are opening. I guess I’ll see what tomorrow brings, now off to the game. Thanks for your help.
