Server Version#:129.06244
QNAP 5.01.2145
Hi guys, I love PLEX, I have been waiting for such a full featured and rich program, and I am amazed and the minute I test drove it I got myself a lifetime membership!
However, I am having the following issue with my Qnap System. The PLEX Server Install grows and grows as I add media to my directories.
it ballooned to 28 GBytes! after an initial install of 285 MBytes. The problem is that QNAP seems to make its own System partition for the applications running on the NAS. PLEX has no problem overwhelming this partitions space, so much so that eventually I end up getting Faults from the Qnap system saying that there was a critical error as there was no more room in the system partition to perform a given task.
MY NAS has 98 Terrabytes of space. I am a videographer. and I have terabytes and terabytes of video content, when the system indexes all of this, it swells to far beyond what the SYSTEM partition allows for SYSTEM side software.
I am more than happy to put these DATA/INDEX files under the Public space which has plenty of terrabytes left, and PLEX can grow to as big as it wishes too.
Right now I have the following defined in my Server install:
Movies:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/MediaSignPlayer/CodexPackExt/share/Public/Movies
TV Shows:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/MediaSignPlayer/CodexPackExt/share/Public/TVShows
Personal Video Files:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/MediaSignPlayer/CodexPackExt/share/Public/MyVideoFiles
I can SSH to the system and change anything you guys want me to: In order to make the system play nice on my SERVER and eat up all the partition resources.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keep in Mind my system is Qnap NAS 5.0 which I think is linux based.
