I have to pick the same audio track every episode I watch. I don’t understand why this selection is not preserved? It’s the same TV Show, nothing is changing, the track names don’t change and even if they did, Plex could just default to whatever track it likes.
The same concerns subtitles selection. I have to pick it every episode, it’s very annoying.
Is there a way to make Plex to remember my preferences?
Well, you can mark the preferred tracks in your file itself by setting the flags in the file metadata. If you do this, re-scan (Analyze) your files after modifying the flags to have Plex pick them up.
You did set your Audio/Subtitle preferences in your account, right? (Click profile icon, select “Account settings”). This lets you set which audio/subtitle LANGUAGE track Plex picks by default. If you have multiple identical language tracks, then Plex simply picks the default for that language or the first one for that language.
If you want these audio/subtitle selections ONLY for this one show, and don’t want to change your account-wide settings, you can edit the show with the pencil icon and change these settings for the show only:
