Hi everyone.
My scenario is as follows:
I have two video files, which together makes up a single video. They are named according to this formatting:
“Title DISC1.mkv” and “Title DISC2.mkv”.
Embedded in the files are a number of subtitles. There are main subtitles in English which are .srt, and a number of foreign ones, which are .pgs.
The problem is as follows:
Only when selecting the default English .srt subtitle, does the server carry on showing subtitles, after switching from playing Title DISC1.mkv, to playing Title DISC2.mkv. If I select any of the .pgs subtitles, no subtitles are shown after the switch to Title DISC2.mkv happens.
I have attempted solving this, by extracted the .pgs subtitles I need to .srt from each file, and tried naming them “Title DISC1.srt” and “Title DISC2.srt”. I then select the external subtitle option, when playing the files. However, the problem persists. After switching to Title DISC2.mkv, no subtitles are shown.
My question is therefore simply this:
What naming formatting do I need to apply to the video files and external subtitles, in order for the Plex Server to connect each subtitle file to each video file properly, and thus ensure continued playback with subtitles in the language I need, across the two video files?
Best regards, and thanks in advance for your reply
