How to reset plex server without losing server UUID?

Hi,
I’m trying to find out how to reset my Plex Server but keep the UUID and link to plex.tv, without having to relink it. In effect I want to factory reset my server, and set it up from scratch, but not delete it from the system.

…If that makes any sense.

I’ve been reading a few guides and threads like here and here but I dont seem to be able to find a definitive answer for this.

From what I am able to surmise, do I just delete all the folders from my Plex Media Server folder, but leave the plexmediaserver.pid and Preferences.xml files?

Is there a guide or process that I can find anywhere?
