The latest update to version 1.18 on my QNAP NAS seems to have messed up audio/video sync for some of my ROKU player devices, so I’d like to roll back to the previous version. I still have a copy of the prior .qpkg package that was working fine (PlexMediaServer-1.17.0.1841-d42cfa161-x86_64.qpkg), and some previous posts seem to indicate that it’s possible to roll back if you can find the right older package, but I can’t see anything in the previous posts I’ve found so far that clearly explains the exact process to use to roll back versions without losing all my database structure/metadata info.
Is there such a process and can someone explain how to do it so that the database/metadata info is preserved?
I am having issues after installing the 1.18.0.1913 on my roku and samsung tv. I am using a qnap that has been running flawlessly for 1.5 years now and the update has caused lag and skipping to occur. luckily i had access to 1.17.0.1709 and down graded. My problems are now gone, but i am guessing that i am about to find out that i am missing the newer functionality.
Is there a location to down load other older versions of hte QPKG file? I looked but seem to get pushed in the direction of the 1.18.0.1913 version.
Yeah - it’s definitely looking like the new update (1.18.0.1913) was the cause of the lag/skipping/out of sync issues - I rolled back to the earlier version (PlexMediaServer-1.17.0.1841-d42cfa161-x86_64.qpkg) doing just like solitaryreign suggested (thanks!) and the problems immediately vanished. Looks like I’ll be staying on this one for a while.
I’ve kept many of the older versions of .qpkg files since I started using Plex a few months ago - if there’s any particular one(s) you’re looking for I could probably upload them to my Mediafire account and provide you with a link.
